In 2017, the Oxford Health BRC was set up to bring together academics and clinicians to translate scientific breakthroughs into new treatments that benefit patients, improve the delivery of care by the NHS, and support the wider economy. In 2022 a new BRC theme was formed called ‘Mental Health in Development’ (MHID), which has the overall aim of developing targeted, effective, and accessible mental health interventions that meet the needs of diverse children and young people aged 0-18 years.
A key objective of MHID is to establish an integrated research, assessment and treatment centre for children and young people with anxiety and related disorders and depression, known as the Anxiety and Depression in Young People (AnDY) Research Clinic – Oxford. The clinic launched in May 2024.
